This type of heat exchanger consists of a shell with a bundle of tubes inside it. One fluid runs through the tubes, and another fluid flows over the tubes (through the shell) to transfer heat between the two fluids. The set of tubes is called a “tube bundle” and may include several types of tubes - plain, longitudinally finned, etc.

Pfaudler manufactures shell and tube heat exchangers in various designs and material of construction such as low alloy steel, stainless steel, hastelloy, titanium, zirconium and tantalum.

Pfaudler’s experienced team of engineers can create thermal designs (HTRI and Aspen) to optimize heat exchanger designs. Along with a mechanical warranty, Pfaudler can also offer a performance warranty.
